Instructions for Measuring Ring Size Using a String

  1. Materials Needed:
    • A piece of string (about 6 inches long)
    • A ruler (preferably with millimeter and inch markings)
    • A pen or marker
  2. Wrap the String:
    • Take the piece of string and wrap it around the base of the finger where you intend to wear the ring.
    • Ensure the string is snug but not too tight. You want it to be comfortable enough for daily wear.
  3. Mark the String:
    • Using the pen or marker, make a mark where the string first overlaps.
  4. Measure the String:
    • Lay the string flat against the ruler and measure the length from the end of the string to the mark you made.
    • Record the measurement in millimeters or inches.
  5. Determine Your Ring Size:
    • Use the recorded measurement to find your ring size on the chart above. Match the inside circumference in millimeters or inches with the corresponding US ring size.

Tips:

  • Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is likely to be at its largest.
  • Ensure your fingers are at a normal body temperature; fingers can shrink or expand when cold or hot.
  • If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both the knuckle and the base and select a size in between the two.

This method provides an easy and effective way to determine your ring size at home, ensuring a perfect fit for your new jewelry.
